Amy Weidert

LEAD MEDIATOR

My path to this work stems from my experience as a counselor in the public schools, as a therapist (LPC) working with adults and kids in a clinical setting, as well as my own experience with mediation some years back.  I have been working in the field of mental health since 2007, and have found that though mediation is a different process than therapy, my goal when it comes to supporting and guiding clients through significant and often difficult life change in both spaces is very similar: To provide the space for individuals to connect with their authentic self by making decisions grounded in their core beliefs and values, and in mediation specifically, creating that space for each individual while working together to find the most compassionate and respectful paths forward.

In circumstances where there may have been or currently is significant conflict or tension between two people, mediation can also be an opportunity for two people to do that conflict differently.  Especially when children are involved, this shift has potential for coparenting in a healthier way. As a mediator I can help bring forward what might be at the core of that conflict to support and guide peoples' path through divorce.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling to places that invite a bit of adventure, knitting (and frogging), cycling, listening to live music, hiking, camping, gardening, and most of all, through both the ups and downs, the time I have with my kids and partner.
