Benefits of Divorce Mediation

Protects Financial Health

We keep every member of your family in mind, and help you remember that your interests are still aligned. In mediation, you engage with neutral professionals to guide you, facilitate agreements, and execute the necessary decisions. Our Legal Mediator crafts comprehensive legal agreements, and our Financial Mediator identifies creative solutions to complicated fiscal issues, preserving your financial wellness. Armed with the expertise and support of the mediation team, you work together to find the compromises you both can live with, without bitterness. Best of all, you stay in control of your own decisions, rather than having a judge, who knows nothing about your family, rule on personal matters.

Empathetic & Effective

Effective family law requires not only legal expertise, but also compassion and commitment to civility and cooperation. We guide families as they chart a path forward with respect and expedience. Thanks to years of legal, psychological, and financial experience, our team provides expert support in the process and the outcome. We help you reach agreements that both parties can live with for now— and in the future.

You Set the Pace

When you file for divorce, there is a mandatory 120-day waiting period before your final hearing can be scheduled. At Madison Divorce Mediation, nearly all of our cases resolve during that waiting period. Four months after filing, you will be ready for your final hearing with a signed agreement. Conversely, the traditional litigation process usually takes at least a year, dragging on and on, for reasons out of your control. Mediation allows you to set the tempo. If you are ready to move quickly, we’ll get your agreement done quickly. If you need to slow things down, we’ll stand back and wait.

Protects Relationships

We all benefit from treating one another fairly. Mediation is a supportive, future-focused approach. It may sound unlikely right now, but many couples tell us that some time after the divorce, they are able to reconnect with what they liked about each other. Through our process, we help you identify the shared goals that make it possible to arrive at necessary decisions. Our Lead Mediator and Attorney Mediator are skilled at empowering you to maintain these aligned interests, find harmony wherever possible, and co-create agreements to support you and your loved ones as you walk towards a renewed, post-divorce life.
